No More Deaths

In his role as logistics coordinator for the advocacy group No More Deaths, Shaw Drake writes a powerful first witness to suffering and death at the border. He is the son of artist and community activist, Todd Drake who conceived of and produced our logo shown here. Todd is also a board member of La Vela Center and Shaw has served as a volunteer at the Latino Mental Health Campaign, La Vela Center and La Vela Lutheran Church (Thanks to Pastor Kristina)

Radio en español - WUAG 103.1

Dos estudiantes latinos de UNCG presentan un programa de radio en puro español todos los sabados, de 7:00am - 10:00am, en la estación WUAG 103.1

El programa dura solo tres horas, pero que bueno que hay desde que "La Preciosa" ya no es en Greensboro.

Two latino students from UNCG will air a radio program in Spanish every Saturday, 7:00am - 10:00am, station WUAG 103.1

The program only lasts for three hours, but so great that it is here, especially since "La Preciosa" no longer airs in Greensboro.

Hola Amigos del Centro Latino La Vela

Gracías por dar su tiempo en participar en el ultímo foro abierto de la United Way en Greensboro. United Way hace un estudio cada cinco años para determinar cuales son las mas grandes necesidades de la gente de Greensboro, y United Way usa esta información para decider cuales programas de servicios humanos deben recibir fondos.

Por participar en los foros, la voz de los latinos se hace un poco más mejor escuchado en Greensboro.
